House no. 34 on 1845 Magistrates list |
Address as Holkham Street in 1822 House said to be run in a disorderly manner at the Sessions held Thursday 2nd September 1852. The police objected to licence renewal on the grounds that it was a receptacle for thieves and prostitutes. By a show of hands, the magistrates refused to pass the application around for signing. Charles Ostler applied for a new (full) licence Monday 30th August 1859 - Refused. Seems later to have appealed and regained full licence. Possibly the same as the PRINCES FEATHERS, offered for sale September 1802, location given as Castle Meadow. |
