PUNCH & CHOP HOUSE 1836 to 1869 DAWSON'S CHOP HOUSE in 1864 Stood between the SIR GARNET WOLSELEY (at No 36) and the HALF MOON (No 38) Richard Plane announced August 1847 that he had entered upon the CHOP HOUSE and he earnestly sought the comfort of his guests. Chops, Steaks and Dinners at any hour. Foreign Wines and Spirits. Truman, Hanbury, Buxton & Co's Celebrated Stout. He had previously been servant to George Morse Esq. of Catton Park, for 17 years. Advertised To Let, 5th July 1851. Described as a Spirit Shop and Chop House, in Full Trade. Mr. Richard Plane was relinquishing the property since he had engaged a Brewery. Apply to Mr. Plane or at the counting house of Mr. Robert Seaman, Wine Merchant Norwich. Shown on 1880's map as the PUNCH BOWL Licence provisionally refused 08.03.1921 and referred for Compensation. Closed under Compensation 28.01.1922 Later incorporated into the SIR GARNET WOLSELEY. |
