Elizabeth Lock applied for a full licence 28th August 1855, it was refused.

William Hayne applied for a full licence 1st September 1857. It was refused.  He applied again 23rd August 1858 and it was again refused.

On Thursday 25th October 1866, William Hayne was bound over for three months with a surety from himself of £20 and two sureties of £10 for having used abusive language towards police-constable William Watson. The offence was greatly aggravated by the defendant appearing before the bench in an intoxicated state.

The application made Tuesday 27th August 1867 was refused since the house had been proceeded against during the previous year.

Full licence granted Tuesday 25th August 1868.
It was heard that the previous application in 1867 had been refused since Mr. Hayne had endeavoured to prevent a policeman entering the house. The house had been very well conducted for the past year.

Holls Lane was renamed Old Palace Road after 1865.

Destroyed by enemy action 27/29.04.1942.
The Customs officer confirmed 06.11.1942 that the house was not trading.

The name was "Recently and finally removed from the licence register" according to a note dated 23.11.1966
