The Norfolk Chronicle of 20th July 1776 advertised :-

`A Public House to be let and entered upon immediately, known by the name of the ROYAL EXCHANGE, in St. Gregorys.
Enquire at Mr. Jacksons Brewhouse, Norwich.'
