A Main of Cocks fought here Monday and Tuesday 24th and 25th
February 1777.
The Gentlemen of Norwich and Suffolk to shew 27 Mains and
10 Byes. Five Guineas a Battle and Twenty the Odd.
William Horth offered a good Ordinary on each day, and a hearty
welcome.

Mrs. Charlotte Carter named as landlady of the Shoulder of Mutton in the
trial of Joseph Frost, April 1859, in the "Case of the broken pail".
Frost, of St. Faiths, had knocked a stave out of a pail, causing 1s
6d of damage. Mrs. Carter did not desire to press charges but he was
ordered to pay for the damage and costs.
