6 day licence to 11.10.1960 when the 7 day licence of the BLACK EAGLE, 20 Rupert Street transferred.

Extended 1983 and 1984 - Benedict's Wine Bar added in what was an adjoining shop.

Closed by Greene King for a three month refurbishment, completed December 1988.

Detail of the 1974 frontage.
A 200 year old fireplace was discovered during works being carried out (1989?). Plans to demolish part of the inglenook fireplace rejected by the City Council Planning Committee January 1991 and it was described as an important surviving historical feature that should be retained intact and restored.

Basic city local with one small bar.
