Mary Pearce, an old and haggard-looking woman was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, with hard labour 7th May 1859, having been found guilty of stealing two sheets and a blanket from Mr. Willsea, at whose house she had been staying.
One of the sheets had been pledged at Mrs. Morgan's pawnbroker.
