Judy Staines advises that
William Drage (born 1849), had taken over the house from his father, also William Drage, by
1881.
|
At the 1906 Licensing Sessions it was said that the house was situated in a narrow lane
near the Gas Works. The house was very old and in bad repair. The accommodation was
limited and the construction made supervision, by tenant and police, difficult.
There were 6 other licensed houses within 200 yards.
The licence was provisionally refused 07.02.1906 and referred to Compensation.
Closed under Compensation 23.08.1907
