John "Jack" Abel 1803-1883 was a colourful
character, well-known in Norwich and further afield, but after
his death his story gradually faded into obscurity. This 75-page
booklet reveals details of his fascinating life as horse-dealer,
publican, farmer and money-lender and pinpoints many of the
buildings and sites, long since vanished, with which he was
associated.
