At the Petty Sessions held Monday 29th April 1867, George Rogers of Terrington was charged with stealing a waistcoat, the property of David Adams, landlord of the OSTRICH. Unfortunately the only witness for the prosecution could not swear identification and the case was dismissed.

On Monday 8th September 1873 publican James Painter, along with labourers Charles Allen, Henry Allen and Ransome Wadlow, were charged of refusing to quit the House of Frederick Gooderham, Kings Head, North Wootton on 2nd September.
The four were each fined 20s and 19s costs.

No application made for licence renewal at the General Annual Licensing Meeting 23rd August 1875.
