HOTEL.
Named as the VICTORIA HOTEL, Alexander Dock, in 1879 & 1888.
At Pilot Street in 1892.

Damaged by enemy action November 1941.
Rebuilt after the war but as reported 09.07.1965 the house proved to be
too small. Bullards created a temporary house from 3 specially built
prefabricated interlocking units. ``Containing a plush bar with tile
flooring and built in settees, a bar annex off-licence department, a beer
storage unit and toilets........the caravans will be in use for 12
months....after which customers could move back to a new, spacious
Victoria.''
Dock extension added to licence after 1957.
