December 2020 - Mark Britton locates the house to Wenny Road, Chatteris. The house still stands as a private dwelling.
(Alfred Beeby of the Brewer's Arms was discharged from bankruptcy May 1925 - a temporary licence was granted to his wife, Mary Ann.)

Where was the Piper's Fancy?

Calyn Keohane finds this to have been a guest house
in Coldwaltham, Sussex.

Today it is a residential home.

The sign appears to read :-

But Paul Fuller discovers it to have been the WHITE HORSE, Fisher Gate, Doncaster.
The house of Thomas Bullas.
Certainly an early image because the house was demolished in
1868.

Today a private dwelling on the A480 at Woonton, Herefordshire.

The PLUMBERS ARMS - Thomas Brown is licensee.
The shop next door is owned by J Boyes
and sells Wild Geranium & Trilby cigarettes - amongst many others.

08.2017 - Paul Fuller finds the shop of John Boyes to be at No. 2 Fylde Street, Preston.
It stood next door to No. 3, the PLUMBERS ARMS, which was formerly the New Fighting Cocks. The name change happening in 1881.
Thomas Brown was licensee in 1904 to at least 1907.

The PLUMBERS ARMS closed, probably pre 1911.
The area was redeveloped in the 1960's.

Should be easy....  

As it happens it took a while to locate because the house was once called the
FOX and is recorded in history as such.

Paul Fuller tracked it down, October 2016 and locates it to Fox Lane, Eversley Cross, Hampshire.

An early scene and the
BELL INN is to the right.
The buildings to the left appear to be mostly timber clad.


October 2015 - Adrian Wayne-Morgan traces the house to the High Street, Bushey, Herts.

September 2015 - Calyn Keohane finds the house (still trading) in Llangeitho, Tregaron, Ceredigion, Wales. SY25 6TW.

The two windows at the extreme LH end have long since been filled in, as has the LH door.

in what appears to be the market square? 


It turns out to be Halstead, Essex.
The bank to the left having been demolished to allow widening of the Hedingham Road.

The KINGS (ARMS ?) was apparently run by
licensee JACKSON at the time......
..... a chance Jackson was the name of the brewery..........

The house appears to be called the WINDMILL or MILL
and the licensee is possibly George C Carr?

The WINDMILL INN 
is in CHURCH STREET, STRATFORD on AVON.

The site today developed into apartments.
