Monday 6th March 1905 - Provisional licence granted and the matter
of possible closure referred to the Quarter Sessions.
In 1952 it was said that Mr. George Sayers had taken
on the house 60 years previously, which would put him at the house from
1892, however Henry Bishop is recorded here in 1894. Upon his death in 1918, Harriett Sayers took over and following
her death in 1936, her eldest daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Tingay
followed. Mr. Tingay announced his retirement in March 1952 and was to
be superseded by the youngest daughter of Mr. Sayer and son-in-law, Mr.
& Mrs. F Halls.
Closed Summer 1984.
