Mrs. Redcar, wife of Harry, was killed in 1941 by being hit by a
bullet fired from an RAF aircraft practicing air-to-air firing.

Advertised For Sale by Auction 10th October 1778.
In exceptionally good repair, together with two Enclosures of Land
adjoining, in all Five Acres by estimation. All freehold, leased to
Messrs, Smith and Murkin, for seven years, from 5th April 1774, at the
annual rent of £16.

For Sale by Auction Thursday 10th March 1814, late in
the occupation of Mrs. Mary Rawlings, deceased.
With stabling for twenty water horses and riding stable for six horses
and inclosure of arable land, together by estimation, four acres.
Location given as `on the eastern side of Denver Sluice, at and near to
which the Old and New Bedford, the Nene and Wissey Rivers form their
several junctions with the River Ouze, Already communication with seven
counties and to be soon navigable from Lynn to London'.

The Household Furniture and other Effects of Mrs. Rawlings were to be
sold, upon the premises, on Friday 11th March 1814.

In March 1867, James Corston was accused of having his house
open at illegal hours on Sunday 24th February 1867. Due to insufficient
evidence that beer had been sold, the charge was dismissed.

Monday 12th February 1906 - Licence renewal adjourned
for consideration at the licensing meeting to be held 12th March 1906.

Demolished to allow revised road layout between Sluice Road and Ten Mile Bank, following
digging of the Relief Channel in late 1950's.
