It was reported January 1925 that Mr. J. H. King's mother ran the WHITE HART HOTEL in Wymondham until she took over the Rifleman from her sister. Mr. King had been an apprentice engineer in Wymondham before joining the Police Force and served 26 years with the Isle of Ely Constabulary. Upon retirement, he succeeded his mother as licensee of the house.
