SPADE & BECKETT 1851, 1894, 1911 & 1937 At Bridgefoot 1851 SPADE & BECKET 1898 when landlady Emma Fickling was accused of keeping the house open during prohibited hours. The Lynn Advertiser of 14th October 1898 reported that a group of men had been observed the previous Sunday, drinking outside the house at 10:45pm. They had been served by Richard Williamson, the defendants son. Mrs Fickling said that the beer had been drawn off before 10:00pm. Her son had asked her at 10:30pm if more beer could be drawn and she had said `No'. Mrs Fickling was fined 10/- with 6/6d costs.
