Also given as at Long Row.
On Thursday 28th October 1824, Four Tenements were to be sold by
Auction. Part of the building described as formerly a public house,
called the Queen's Head. The occupants were, John Brown, William
Panks, James Hooks and John Wakefield.
On Wednesday 14th October 1874, Elizabeth Grass, domestic servant of
Lynn, sought to recover 17s in wages from George Fisher.
On 3rd August 1874, Miss Grass had entered Mr. Fisher's service as
housekeeper, at £10 a year. On 20th August, Miss Grass had asked to go
to Lynn and Fisher had said that if she did so, she should stay away
forever.
In a state of inebriation, she, `betook herself to the road and exposed
herself'
Another woman named Rosanna Smith, who also worked at the house,
corroborated the events.
His Honour gave judgement for Miss Grass, jocularly remarking that he
supposed Grimston was a very dull place. Miss Grass added something not
over complimentary to that parish.
