The 1861 census names John Nicholls at the RAILWAY TAVERN, but it is believed then to be the same house as the CROWN.

In 1858 Mr. Nichols is confirmed at the CROWN as is Mrs Nichols in 1863.

The actual RAILWAY TAVERN appears to have opened about 1869.

The obituary of Philip Colman was published in the Norwich Mercury 12th January 1907.

Damaged by enemy action 3rd August 1942
