In the Norfolk Chronicle of Saturday 5th November 1836 it is recorded that Robert Gathercole, son of William Gathercole of the Green Man, Mundford, married Miss Elizabeth Lincoln, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Lincoln, grocer of Grimstone. Meanwhile in Mundford Miss Mary Gathercole, eldest daughter of William, married William Pooley, blacksmith and veterinary surgeon.
