For Sale by Auction 20th May 1841.
Described as a Messuage or Beer-house, called the King William, with Barn,
Stables, Out-buildings, Yard and premises, with an enclosure of fine Arable
Land. In all 2R. 26P.
In the occupation of James Hill at the yearly rent of £19.
In June 1843, James Hill of Sculthorpe is described as a farmer.
James Hill is recorded to 1854 as running a beerhouse, but by 1858 he is
identified at the HORSE & GROOM.
It is possible that the King William was renamed the Horse & Groom soon
after the 1841 sale, or Mr. Hill moved to a new house.
