It was reported 25th May 1895 that William Ship had gained a one
hour extension to his licence for 4th June and also to supply
refreshments on a ground, the same day, at Shipdham.
The same report was again published on 1st June 1895.

In 1888, Kelly records a Greyhound at Shipdham,
was it this house or one at a totally different location?
Charles Watling has not been located elsewhere.
Listed 1890 as Freehold property of the Dereham Brewery,
including Bagatelle Room and Bowling Green.
The Dinner to inaugurate the proprietorship of Mr. William Ashby was held
here Thursday 18th January 1894. Some 20 friends and neighbours enjoyed a
capital repast. Mr. Bidwell, representing the owners, occupied the chair.
An extension to licence was granted to William Ashby, 4th May 1894 for the
occasions of sports and dinners in Whit Week.

licence for the
HORSE SHOES, Great Dunham.
