All the Fixed and Moveable Brewing Plant, Shop Fixtures,
Glass, Measures, and part of the Household Furniture of
Boardman & Co, Brewers, &c., opposite St Lawrence
Church, were to be Sold by Auction, Thursday, 26th
November 1840.
The Brewing Plant comprising, a four-barrel copper, as
fixed, six-barrel mashtub, underbeck, two coolers,
ten-barrel working square, copper pump, two working
troughs, fifty casks, &c., &c., the whole in excellent
condition and nearly new.
The Shop Fixtures and Furniture consisting of shop
counter, painted shop blinds, forms, chairs, glasses,
jugs, measures, with the remaining part of the household
furniture, the whole to be sold without reserve, the
firm having dissolved partnership.
In 1855, John Sursham is recorded at the
PHOENIX BREWERY, Magdalen Street,
he appears to be joined by Mr. J. T. Boardman when a new
licence is granted 1st September 1857.
