In January 1827 it was officially recorded, by order of the House of Commons, that Norwich produced the following number of Barrels of Beer in 1826
The number of Brewers given in 1826 as:-
November 1829. William Pratt of the Magdalen Street Brewery offered his Ale:- Made from Malt and Hops Alone! X Ale 12d per gallon (1½d a pint) XX Ale 20d per gallon (2½d a pint) XXX 2s 4d per gallon (3½d a pint) |
On 4th February 1969 it was
announced that there had been a major reorganisation of the Watney Mann Group.
A new company had been formed and named Watney Mann (
London & Home Counties).
It was to replace:-
Watney Combe Reid & Co. which had over 1,000
tied houses and 286 off-licences,
Mann, Crossman & Paulin with 603 houses and 421
off-licences,
Tamplin's Brewery with 490 houses and 55 off-licences
and
Watney Combe Reid (Alton) with 248 houses and 70
off-licences.
