In 1849, carpenter John Pierson agreed to hire a
public house called the CURRIERS ARMS from a Mr. Robert
Wright, shoemaker, with the option to purchase it for
£200. He made substantial repairs and (thought he had) purchased the house in September 1851 with a £240 mortgage from a Mr. Pilgrim. In 1852 Wright sold the house to Messrs. Bullard for £341 1s 10d. Unfortunately the location of the house not given in the report of 28th July 1855. (Possibly the St. Stephens house) |
