Address as given in 1783 Robert Chiddick took over the CASTLE & LION, Castle Ditches, in January 1792. In May 1792, George Thompson, late Butler to Sir Thomas Gooch, Bart., announced that he had taken the PORTER HOUSE, late Chiddick's, known by the sign of the PINE APPLE. He advised that he had laid in a New Stock of the very best Old Wines and Foreign Spirits, Shrub and Real London Porter. London Papers were available three times a week with Norwich and Ipswich Papers weekly. |
