The Household Furniture of Mr. Robert Harrison was to be Sold Monday 28th September 1778 since he had taken the CROWN at Swaffham.

Two entries appear in 1760 giving the CASTLE & LION at St. Peter Mancroft.

Saturday, 6th May 1780, Robert Mayhew, from the GLOBE, Blofield, thanked his customers for the many favours he had already received since arriving at the Castle & Lion.

The CASTLE & LION, White Lion Lane, in occupation of Robert Mayhew, was offered to let from Michaelmas, as advertised 5th April 1782.

Five, Ten Pound bank bills and some plate were stolen from the Castle & Lion, the house of Mrs. Mayhew during the week ending 30th April 1791. The thief getting away, undiscovered..

Robert Chiddick announced 25th January 1792 that he had taken the Inn, for the better accommodation of his Customers, whose favours he solicited and thanked them for his former support. (Named at the PORTER HOUSE, Lower Goat lane, in 1783)

Thomas Booth, many years waiter at the SWAN, St. Peters, informed 30th June 1792 that he had taken the Castle & Lion Inn. Address given as White Lion Lane.
The same announcement appeared 9th October 1793 (dated September 1793) but the name of inn given simply as the CASTLE and included that he had purchased the property.

For Sale by Auction Saturday 12th February 1820, then in the occupation of Mr. Ansell.
Used as a Market house and considered to be one of the best frequented Inns in the City for more than fifty years past.
A coach runs therefrom to Yarmouth twice every day.
