Tuesday 21st August 1844 - Accused
of running a disorderly house and thus becoming liable to a fine of £10,
Mr. Chapman said that he was away at the time of the reported
disturbance which had occurred on the previous Sunday night, when his
wife ejected a pair of drunken women.
The Mayor, observed that he had been previously convicted of a similar
offence and in consequence his licence would be stopped at the next
licensing day. |
