At the Litcham Petty Sessions Wednesday 26th August 1863, William Mason from London, John Robbins from Bristol, George Parker from London, William Hall from New York, William Harley from Germany and Augustus Schneider from Denmark were all charged with begging. The first four were committed to Swaffham Prison but charges against the last two were dropped owing to their not understanding the English Language. |
